Bluegrass Series

Bluegrass series

Kathleen Brooks

*********************************************************************************

Well this series are two from bluegrass really, the first one is Bluegrass and has 3 books:

  1. Bluegrass State of mind
  2. Risky Shot
  3. Dead Heat
These 3 you can say are like a beginning to the next series Bluegrass brothers, since they are all related and they're are marvelous for sure.

I mean what girl don't love a romance book that has a little of danger and mystery in it and sexy mens too, it's jackpot for all girls in the world.

The next series is about the bunch of brothers presented on the first series of books the Davies, they are all sensible men and you will love to read it.

You can read a little more and see the new projects for this Author here:

******************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Bueno estas series en realidad se podría decir que son dos, la primera seria Bluegrass que tiene 3 libros:

  1. Bluegrass State of mind
  2. Risky Shot
  3. Dead Heat

**************************************************************************************

It was very interesting and fun to read, it had a lot of drama and fun parts, very sexy parts too.

I loved the plots and the characters were very interesting and very connecting to.

The books are more than anything for shifters and paranormal fans, this ones are very nice done and you will have a lot of fun with this readings.

They're romance books and usually the girls are the ones who enjoy them more.

I leave you the link here if you want to buy the ebook edition on Amazon:

Hope you enjoy the reading...

******************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Switch

Switch

Karen prince

Trouble is brewing in Karibu and Gogo Maya and her leopard are about to make matters worse. Their risky ‘switching’ trick has jettisoned them right out of the secret realm, sucking a teenager from the ordinary world into the mess they left behind them.

Ethan Flynn is pretty useless in the African bush but at least he knows how to do CPR . . . and that’s when he finds out you shouldn’t do it on a witch. The one he just rescued from drowning says she switched places with his cousin and now Ethan has sucked up all her magical powers, leaving her too weak to switch back again.

It must be true. Joe has vanished into thin air, Ethan’s feeling all unhinged, and the old woman’s leopard is communicating its thoughts straight into his head.

. . . alarming thoughts about teaming up with fearsome characters and traveling into dark places; disturbing thoughts about Joe in terrible danger unless Ethan learns to use the magic in time to rescue him.

That’s if Ethan himself can survive . . .

**************************************************************************************

Well this book was entertaining and very cute actually, it narrates the story of a boy that seem to comfortable with all his thing but when he go to visit his cousin in Africa well there you have to conform with anything you have.

Ethan, poor boy, rescues an old lady of drown but since she was a witch, he accidentally suck up all her powers and his cousin Joe vanished to another land shrouded in mystery and magic.

Now Ethan has to go rescue Joe and come back alive to return all the powers to the witch...

It's a very cool book, right now only in english but very entertaining.

****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Land of the Dead series

Pale Immortal (Book 1)

Garden of Darkness (Book 2)

Anne Frasier

*********************************************************************************

Synopsis Book 1

The sleepy town of Tuonela, Wisconsin, is known for one thing: the killer who stalked its streets one hundred years ago, drinking the blood of his victims. And when the drained corpse of a young girl is found, the citizens fear their past has risen from the grave--and point their fingers at one man....

Evan Stroud can never see the light of day. The prisoner of a strange and terrible disease, he lives in tragic solitude, taunted for being a "vampire"--until the son he never knew he had shows up in Tuonela and is drawn into its depraved, vampire-obsessed underworld. Then Evan must rely on coroner Rachel Burton, his childhood friend, for help. But the evil that they face is powerful and elusive and about to take them to the very brink of madness.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Synopsis Book 2
Haunted by both the town of Tuonela and the betrayal of Evan Stroud, medical examiner Rachel Burton tries to leave, but is brought back by the skinned body found in the woods. Others are coming to Tuonela, drawn to the legend of the Pale Immortal, the so-called vampire whose exhumed body is now on display. And others will die.
As Evan succumbs to madness, those around him will suspect the worst of him. But nothing he is rumored to be will compare to the one who has been awakened..
*********************************************************************************
Well this books are only in english for what I could found at the moment, but they're pretty good mystery and suspense books.
The first one I bought it a long time ago in a book fair for $1 dollar and after that I try to found the second book and all and it was almost a year or so later that I found it but in ebook format.
It's very interesting the way Anne put the vampire in his books, because it was a little weird but it was very rational and even a little more interesting than putting an stereotypical one, since the one in this books is long dead and he don't rise just like that out of nowhere or anything like that.
The protagonist in the book seems to have a disease and can't go in the sun and it seems their parents gave them some sort of powder to try to cure this illness that seem to have developed from scratch one day, but what they did was invite something else into their son without knowing it.
In the second book you have a lot more to work with since they seems to discover the original vampire body and they put it on a museum, worst idea ever I think if you live in a town where everyone is so superstitious and all.
Strange things come to pass and our protagonist seem to be embedded by something and the body in the museum only serves to grow all the stories and myths a little more.
I do really recommend this books they will put you on edge and you will be entranced by this shadow play in Tuonela...
*********************************************************************************
*********************************************************************************
Bueno estos libros solo están en ingles por lo que pude ver hasta el momento, pero son bastante buenos en cuanto a misterio y suspenso.
El primero lo compre en una feria del libro por $1 dólar y después de eso me tomo casi 1 año y tanto encontrar el segundo libro en formato digital.
Es bastante interesante como Anne describe a sus vampiros, porque en realidad me pareció un poco raro pero a la vez muy racional y hasta bien curioso porque no son los vampiros estereotipados a los que estamos acostumbrados, ya que en este libro el vampiro está bien muerto, más o menos, y no se levanta de la tumba tal cual ni nada de eso.
El protagonista parece tener una enfermedad muy rara y no puede salir al sol y sus padres deciden darle un tipo de polvo en té para intentar curarlo pero lo que hacen es invitar a algo más dentro de su hijo sin saberlo.
En el segundo libro tienes más con que trabajar porque al parecer descubren los restos del vampiro original y deciden ponerlo en un museo, mala idea si me preguntas si vives en un pueblito lleno de supersticiones y demás la verdad.
Empiezan a pasar cosas muy extrañas y nuestro protagonista parece dominado por alfo y el cuerpo en el museo solo sirve para hacer crecer las historias y mitos un poco más.
En realidad recomiendo este libro, los dejara en suspenso y fascinados por los juegos de sombras en Tuonela…
The Name of The Wind
The Name of the Wind
Patrick Rothfuss
Told in Kvothe's own voice, this is the tale of the magically gifted young man who grows to be the most notorious wizard his world has ever seen. The intimate narrative of his childhood in a troupe of traveling players, his years spent as a near-feral orphan in a crime-ridden city, his daringly brazen yet successful bid to enter a legendary school of magic, and his life as a fugitive after the murder of a king form a gripping coming-of-age story unrivaled in recent literature.
**************************************************************************************
Well the style is very interesting very classic, but me in particular I didn't really liked the book, I don't know if maybe it was too slow for me or maybe it just wasn't my type of book.
I really do hear great things about this book and all but it's not a book for everyone because we try it in my readers circle and only one of us liked the book.
Now you must know that this it's not a lite reading because it has up to 700 pages and it's only the first book.
If you're brave enough to read it and like it, I will leave here an excerpt of the book so you can decide reading it or not.
Hope you enjoy the book and when you read please leave a comment =)
**************************************************************************************
Excerpt :
PROLOGUE
A Silence of Three Parts
It was night again. The Waystone Inn lay in silence, and it was a silence of three parts.
The most obvious part was a hollow, echoing quiet, made by things that were lacking. If there had been a wind it would have sighed through the trees, set the inn’s sign creaking on its hooks, and brushed the silence down the road like trailing autumn leaves. If there had been a crowd, even a handful of men inside the inn, they would have filled the silence with conversation and laughter, the clatter and clamor one expects from a drinking house during the dark hours of night. If there had been music ... but no, of course there was no music. In fact there were none of these things, and so the silence remained.
Inside the Waystone a pair of men huddled at one corner of the bar. They drank with quiet determination, avoiding serious discussions of troubling news. In doing this they added a small, sullen silence to the larger, hollow one. It made an alloy of sorts, a counterpoint.
The third silence was not an easy thing to notice. If you listened for an hour, you might begin to feel it in the wooden floor underfoot and in the rough, splintering barrels behind the bar. It was in the weight of the black stone hearth that held the heat of a long dead fire. It was in the slow back and forth of a white linen cloth rubbing along the grain of the bar. And it was in the hands of the man who stood there, polishing a stretch of mahogany that already gleamed in the lamplight.
The man had true-red hair, red as flame. His eyes were dark and distant, and he moved with the subtle certainty that comes from knowing many things.
The Waystone was his, just as the third silence was his. This was appropriate, as it was the greatest silence of the three, wrapping the others inside itself. It was deep and wide as autumn’s ending. It was heavy as a great river-smooth stone. It was the patient, cut-flower sound of a man who is waiting to die.
El Nombre del Viento
Patrick Rothfuss
*********************************************************************************
Bueno el estilo es interesante muy clásico, a mí en lo particular no me gusto mucho el libro, pero no se quizás lo halle muy lento o quizás solo no era mi tipo de libro.
He escuchado muchas críticas buenas acerca de este libro pero no es un libro para todo el mundo la verdad, una vez lo probamos en mi círculo de lectura y solo a una le gusto.
Ahora deben saber que no es ningún libro suave para leer tiene unas 700 páginas y eso es solo el primer libro.
Si eres lo suficientemente valiente para leerlo y hallarle el gusto, les dejo por aquí un adelanto del libro y ustedes decidirán si leerlo o no.
Espero les guste el libro y si lo leen por favor dejen un comentario =)
Moments Series
Moments Series
Marie Hall
******************************************************
This one is a good series very realistic and interesting, this books have a lot of soul and I think you will really enjoy the little drama...
The first one was so deep and real I feel all the pain, the joy everything...
I think the idea is very well organized and runs smoothly and well that's what life is sometimes and yes always have a choice and it's beautiful reading about it because you feel this courage towards life that it very enticing.
The second one it was such a great read, Alex and Ryan confronting theirs demons when they where so intense and Zoe was a great addition to their family.
I loved this series...
This series are intense and make you think a lot in life and it's amazing how much a person can ground you in life.
It's a super great series I recommend it to everyone who want a good, deep and fun read.
The third one I haven't read it yet but I can guess it can only be good and fun...
I leave you here the links to the books in amazon, the first one is free so enjoy.
A Moment
Right Now
This Time
******************************************************
Esta es una buena serie bastante realista e interesante, estos libros tienen mucha alma y creo que pueden disfrutar un poco el drama…
El primer libro fue bastante profundo y sentí todo el dolor, la alegría, todo…
Creo que la idea estuvo bien organizada y fue bastante fluido, la vida a veces es así y si siempre hay una opción y es hermoso leer acerca de eso porque sientes un poco de ánimo hacia la vida que es bastante refrescante.
El segundo fue una gran lectura también, Alex y Ryan enfrentan sus demonios aunque fueran muy fuertes y Zoe fue una gran adición a la familia.
En realidad me encanta esta serie…
Hasta ahora son bastante intensas y te hace pensar bastante acerca de la vida y lo impresionante lo mucho que una persona puede pesar en tu vida.
Es una súper gran serie y la recomiendo a todos los que les gusta una buena, profunda y divertida historia.
El tercer aun no he podido leerlo pero solo puedo adivinar que será igual de buena y divertida…
Les dejo los enlaces de los libros en Amazon, el primero esta gracias, espero disfruten.
De momento solo están en ingles pero la verdad son muy divertidos.
The Shadow Over Innsmouth
                               The Shadow
                             Over Innsmouth
H.P. Lovecraft
"The Shadow Over Innsmouth" is a short novel about a weird hybrid race of humans and creatures resembling a cross between a fish and a frog, which lives in the seaside village of Innsmouth.
****************************************************************
Well this book was recommended, it wasn't really my thing but it was pretty interesting.
I like this kind of books about myths and stories, this one being from Lovecraft is a a little of both, since this book should enlighten a little more about the Cthulhu  followers or something among those lines.
The book was a very page turner I will admit that but it wasn't the best book in my opinion, I kind of love/hate the thing because I didn't really like it for me was a little bulky but for some reason I couldn't put it down.
I will try more of Lovecraft books maybe I went to far ahead and that could have been the thing bad about it, to explore a world made by a writer is always better to begin with the first's books and I don't really know if maybe they have some kind of sequence.
Now Lovecraft writing is a little over elaborate and maybe that can intimidate a little, but the myth about Cthulhu is very interesting to let that scare you or me.
So before you read this books I will recommend to try to find an order to this world before stepping in it or maybe you will get a little confused about it, but I encourage everyone to read this fantastic author.
****************************************************************
La Sombra sobre Innsmouth
H.P. Lovecraft
****************************************************************
Este libro me lo recomendaron y aunque no era exactamente mi tipo de libro era bastante interesante.
Me gustan este tipo de libros acerca de mitos y cuentos, este siendo de Lovecraft es un poco de ambos, ya que este libro debería en alguna manera iluminar un poco más el secreto de los adoradores de Cthulhu o algo parecido a esas líneas.
El libro es te hará pasar de pagina con cada línea que leas lo admito pero para mí no fue el mejor libro, tengo una especie de relación amor/odio con el libro porque en realidad no me encanto porque lo sentido muy pesado por alguna razón pero jamás pude dejarlo de leer.
Seguiré probando los libros de Lovecraft quizás me fui muy adelante en los libros y eso sería un punto malo en esto, para explorar el mundo de un escritor usualmente es mejor empezar con el primero de los libros y en realidad no sé si quizás tengan algún tipo de secuencia que desconozco.
Ahora Lovecraft escribe un poco rebuscadamente y eso podría llegar a intimidar un poco, pero el mito de Cthulhu es demasiado interesante para dejarte asustar o asustarme.
Así que mi recomendación seria que antes de leer estos libros encontraran el orden en este mundo primero antes de dar el salto al vacío porque si no podrías acabar confundido, pero animo a todos a que lean a este fantástico autor.
Cold Sight
                                      Cold Sight
Leslie Parrish
After being made a scapegoat in a botched investigation that led to a child's death, Aidan McConnell became a recluse. Still, as a favor to an old friend, Aidan will help on the occasional XI case. But under his handsome, rugged facade, he keeps his emotions in check--for fear of being burned again.
Reporter Lexie Nolan has a nose for news--and she believes a serial killer has been targeting teen girls around Savannah. But no one believes her. So she turns to the new paranormal detective agency and the sexy, mysterious Aidan for help.
But just as the two begin forging a relationship, the case turns eerily personal for Lexie--and Aidan discovers that maybe he hasn't lost the ability to feel after all...
*********************************************************************************************
I came across this book in a book fair it was very cheap and it was a super treasure to find because it was very interesting.
The theme is very criminalistic and paranormal to get my attention and it's very well done that I couldn't put it down and leaves me craving for more.
This book is the first one of a serie but it's pretty good, The second one is called Cold Touch and in this book have an excerpt on the end I think you will like.
The investigation is very interesting and what they discover bit by bit will have you enthralled and craving for the next page.
In the end of the book you discover some other truth above Aidan and you will love it it was the cherry on the top for the book really.
I hope you really like this book...
*********************************************************************************
Este libro me lo encontré en una feria de libros y la verdad estaba barato aunque fue un súper tesoro porque es muy interesante.
El tema es muy criminalistico y sobrenatural para captar mi atención y está muy bien escrito tanto que no pude dejar de leerlo y solo quería leer mas.
El libro es el primero de una serie pero es bueno, el segundo se llama Cold Touch y en el libro hay un adelanto de este libro y creo que en realidad les gustara.
La investigación es bastante interesante y lo que van descubriendo te dejara en un hilo difícil de dejar y queriendo mas de las siguientes paginas.
Al final del libro descubres otras verdades acerca de Aidan y te encantara porque fue como la cereza del pastel.
Espero que les guste el libro…
Falsa identidad
                                Falsa identidad
                              Norah McClintock
Zanny miró otra vez el nombre bajo la fotografía: Michael Alexander. El agente especial Wiley no le había mentido. Su papá no había sido quien ella pensaba que era: el bueno de Mitch Dugan. Había sido un ladrón y un asesino llamado Michael Alexander.
*********************************************************************************
This book was a borrow trying to find some mystery novels and it was super cool.
The plot have mysteries, puzzles and nothing seems to be what it seems.
Zanny travels a lot with his dad and although she was accustomed to it, it was always hard to go to a new school and try not to make friends since you never knew when they will move again.
But when his dad seems to end bad and the police comes in and told you that nothing you believed is real, it cause kind of a shock.
Now Zanny will discover the truth he father leaved behind and will know why he always wanted to have the lowest profile of all...
I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did =)
*********************************************************************************
Este libro me lo prestaron ya que trataba de hallar novelas de misterio y la verdad estaba genial.
La trama está llena de misterios, rompecabezas y nada es lo que parece ser.
Zanny viaja mucho con su papa y aunque está acostumbrada a eso a estas alturas, siempre es difícil llegar a una nueva escuela y tratar de no hacer ningún amigo porque nunca sabes cuando tendrás que volver a irte.
Pero cuando su padre termina mal y la policía viene a decirte que nada de lo que creías era verdad, puede ser un poco chocante.
Ahora Zanny descubrirá la verdad que su padre dejo detrás y el porqué siempre quería mantener un perfil bajo en cada ciudad a  la que iban…
Espero que disfruten el libro tanto como yo =)
Inventando a Elliot
Inventing Elliot
Graham Gardner
*********************************************************************************
This particular book was recommended to me, because the person who borrow it thought that I would like it very much.
Now the theme that this book present it's a very likely one, because everyone have been there sometime in their lives, the story represent Elliot a boy that at his school suffer from bullying from other kids but he try to ignore all the pain.
After some time Elliot family moves and he will begin in a new school and thinks that maybe everything will be different, and it is, trying to keep a low profile so the same scenario doesn't come around he do something even worse than that because now they want him to become a bully, since it's seems he has all the qualities in the eyes of the mysterious Guardians of school that are the ones that set all the bullying in school based on a system of their own.
Now Elliot needs to make a decision be a bully or be a victim, and the way things get around will leave you cold...
I hope you like this book as much as I do, because it teaches us that sometimes we need to expand our horizons and not really be what society wants us to be we need to strike for individuality at all times and try to get the stigma out of our minds.
*********************************************************************************
Inventando a Elliot
Graham Gardner
**************************************************************************************
Este libro en particular me lo recomendaron, la persona que me lo presto pensó que quizás me gustaría mucho y la verdad me sentí muy identificada.
Ahora el  tema que se trata en el libro es uno muy posible y que pasa mucho en nuestros tiempos y creo que muchos de nosotros o todos hemos estado ahí en algún momento de nuestras vidas, la historia se trata de Elliot un chico que sufre de bullying en su escuela y lo procesa tratando de ignorar el dolor que esto representa.
Luego de un tiempo la familia de Elliot se muda y el empieza en una nueva escuela y piensa que quizás todo será diferente y lo es, tratando de mantener un perfil bajo para evitar la situación de su antiguo colegio pasa algo aun peor, le piden a el que sea el intimidador, porque al parecer tiene todas las cualidades necesarias para serlo a ojos de los misteriosos Guardianes de la escuela que son los que implementan el bullying basados en un sistema de su propia mano.
Ahora Elliot debe tomar una decisión intimidar o ser la víctima y el cómo suceden las cosas te dejara helado…
Espero que disfruten este libro tanto como yo, porque nos enseña que a veces debemos expandir nuestros horizontes y no ser lo que la sociedad quiere de nosotros si no ser individuos y sacar ese estigma de nuestras mentes.
Sleeper Cell
Sleeper Cell
Jefrey Anderson M.D.
When people start dying of un-explainable symptoms in Los Angeles, the government turns to Biodefense, a top-secret agency against bio-terrorism. For the five members of the team, what they thought could never happen has come to pass: a nano technological weapon of mass destruction has been set loose. And one thing becomes all too clear to Biodefense's Alan Thorpe: the virus was developed and spread here--by a sleeper cell within our own borders--and no one knows how to stop it.
**************************************************************************************
This one I borrowed trying to find a good book to read that was interesting and different from the paranormal ones I usually read.
The incursion was an success, this book it's not only interesting but mind blowing.
The plot is medical almost too real and it is very well investigated, the author did his homework good.
The scenery that is portrait here is very possible in some sort of way, since it's a bio terrorism attack and those are not unreal, that we don't know about them it's pure contingency of our governments.
The author gave us a very deadly plague that could happen if someone with a lot of sick convictions or just for mistake could breach, the scary part is that we don't know anything about and doesn't know how to get rid of it and there comes the main problem and the main solution.
In the book the pentagon release a team that specifically works with this scenarios and they need to find a cure for this sickness.
I recommend this book for thriller fans it will not disappoint and you will have a good reading.
Hope you enjoy the book....
**************************************************************************************
Este libro me lo prestaron para leer porque quería un cambio para los libros que usualmente leo que son del genero sobrenatural.
La prueba fue un éxito total, no solo era interesante si no que la teoría conspiracional es excelente.
La trama es medica muy real la verdad y está muy bien investigada, el autor hizo bien su tarea.
El escenario que se retrata aquí es casi muy real para ignorar y es una posibilidad bastante grande, ya que se habla de ataques bio terroristas de los que no podemos decir que son irreales, que no sepamos de ellos es puro plan de nuestros gobiernos.
El autor nos da una plaga mortal que podría pasar si alguien con convicciones un poco enfermas o solo por error de la ciencia pudiera sacar fuera de un laboratorio, la parte aterradora es que no sabemos nada de esta plaga ni de cómo funciona o como deshacernos de ella y ahí viene el problema principal y la principal solución.
En el libro, El Pentágono pone en acción a un equipo que trabaja específicamente con estos escenarios y de ellos depende encontrar una cura para este mal.
Recomiendo este libro si te gusta el suspenso les aseguro que no los decepcionara y tendrán una muy buena lectura.
Espero que disfruten el libro.
First to Burn
                                  First to Burn
Anna Richland
But the lost Viking relic needed to reverse his immortality is being hunted by another—an ancient enemy who won't hesitate to hurt Theresa to strike back at Wulf
*********************************************************************************************
I came across this one again by a R2R program in the Lovers of Paranormal group in goodreads, I remember watching the description of the book and a few words picked up my attention Beowulf and viking...
I love nordic and viking tales and obviously Beowulf if part of that world.
When I began to read it, it catched my attention that this soldier was so interesting and immersed in his secret I mean not everyday you come across an immortal with regenerative gifts and are aware of what is happening.
I really liked the heroine in this book because she isn't your typical damsel in distress, this one is a strong woman determined to do everything she can to get over any obstacle she have.
Now pair up these two characters, a little of a troop very loyal to their friend and you can wrap it up in this book, it was funny at times and serious in other ways, but a super great epic tale.
I find a lots of things I love in a book in this one, because it had a little drama, ¿who can live without a little angst in their life?, add a little romance and mmm you will like it even more and a little of suspense to get you at the edge to see what more can happen.
 I really recommend it if you like epic, romance and some little tears here and there, it's a genuinely super good story.
*********************************************************************************************
Este libro lo encontré como muchos otros de nuevo gracias al programa de lee para reseña en el grupo Lovers of Paranormal de goodreads, me acuerdo de haber visto la descripción y un par de palabras me llamaron la atención Beowulf y vikingos....
Soy muy fanática de los vikingos y obviamente Beowulf forma parte de ese mundo.
Cuando empece a leerlo, me llamo mucho la atención este soldado tan inmerso en sus secretos y digo no es que nos encontramos todos los días con un inmortal con poderes re-generativos sin saber un poco de lo que pasa.
Me encanto la heroína de este libro porque no es tu típica damisela en apuros, sino que es una mujer independiente y fuerte que hará todo en su poder para sobrepasar todos los obstáculos en su vida.
Ahora si juntas a esos dos y le añades una tropa muy leal a su amigo solo falta ponerle un moño y tienes este libro, fue muy divertido aunque a veces se ponía serio pero eso es exactamente lo que lo hace un gran cuento épico.
Encontré muchas cosas que me gusta leer en un libro, primero por que tenia un poco de drama ¿y quien puede vivir sin un poco de eso en su vida?, le añadimos un poco de romance y mmm te gustara aun más y un poquito de suspenso te mantendrá leyendo para saber que mas puede pasar.
Lo recomiendo mucho si te gusta lo épico, el romance y un par de lagrimas aquí y allá porque en realidad es un libro excelente.
